Gourmet Food Gifts!

I have always loved giving gourmet food as gifts, especially for those people who "have everything!" They are perfect for corporate giving and also great for the man in your life who is just impossible to buy for! Not many of them will be able to resist our Virginia Cocktail peanuts! Add a 6 pack of his favorite micro brewery beer for an added touch. The Funky Chunky tins are also great "guy" gifts, my favorite is the Chip-Zel-Pop- what an amazing combination! We also fell in love with John and Kira's ladybugs, bees, tortoises and pumpkins. These divine chocolate gifts are so delicious and beautifully packaged! They also give back to their community by supporting local community gardens- really cool. Lark Fine Foods is a mother-daughter run company located in Essex, Massachusetts and their award winning sweet and savory short bread cookies are divine and will be that added touch to any cheese plate or appetizer table. Lark's Russian tea cakes are also absolutely delightful- they are a melt-in-your mouth kind of cookie! Based in LA, Droga Confections is also a small company that makes the most delicious caramels and cookies with only the best ingredients, loved by many editors and us! Their holiday boxes are fun and festive (they are also certified Kosher)! Tie a red ribbon around them and your done! V Chocolate's sophisticated toffees and amazing caramels are made with the best Belgian chocolate and ingredients. Their boxes are elegant and perfect for hostess gifts. Bunches and Bunches is a wonderful small bakery based in Seattle, WA, started by Tamalpais Star Roth McCormick who was raised on an organic farm and puts a ton of love in her Cloud cookies and Snaps. They are really tasty (and what amazing packaging)! Ambler Fitzsimon's Blissful Brownies are just that - blissful! We offer them in a bunch of different flavors plus lemon bars and they are made fresh and drop shipped to your home! We must finish this feast with a lovely cup of tea (a nightly ritual for me)! We have a found a great tea company that has recently resurfaced, called G.H Macy & Co. The original founders started imported tea from Asia in 1860 and in the early 1900s was one of the most influential tea company. Family members of the original founders have brought this company back to life, using images from their archives to create simple, elegant packaging. They have a concise collection of 3 teas and we just love them and know you will too!

Waylande Gregory in Oprah Magazine in October!

We are thrilled to announce that our Waylande Gregory salt and pepper shakers were chosen for Oprah's O list for October! We just love this line! The line came back to life again after the discovery of a huge treasure trove of work in the basement of the Gregory Estates Philanthropic Foundation by Gregory's great-grand nephew Bryan Downey and fashion entrepreneur Mickey Rosmain. Owning a piece by Waylande Gregory studios is like owning a piece of history. He is considered one of the greatest modernist of the 20th century! His work has been featured in museums all over the world. Each piece is produced by trained artisans in Peru according to the highest standards. They are hand crafted from high fired porcelain and stoneware using rich matte glazes, 22 karat gold and platinum. They make really special gifts and will also add that extra special touch to a table in your home. We just love the rich colors, design and the subtle touch of metallic. His collection is sold in the best stores and we are honored to be able to offer the line to you!

Bkr, really cool new water bottles!

Did you know that approximately 1.5 million barrels of oil - enough to run 100,000 cars for a whole year - are used to make plastic water bottles? Transporting these bottles burns even more oil. Yes, we use a plastic water bottle if necessary but we try to avoid it. BPA or Bisphenol A, a chemical found in plastic has been linked to an increased risk of cancer, obesity, early onset puberty and diabetes. Can you believe tap water is held to tougher standards than bottled water? That's why we love cool water bottles and we try to fill them up everyday before we leave the house.

We fell in love with Bkr (pronounced Beaker) because they are glass (which is hard to find in water bottles) and it's great looking! It's wrapped in a silicone sleeve that can be removed. It has a good size mouth for "smoother sips." The cap untwists in fewer than two turns and the handle is angled making it very easy to carry. Loved by many celebrities including Natalie Portman, Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon and Zoe Saldana, to name (drop) a few. Best of all it comes in 6 ultra cool and fun colors! They've also partnered with the Obakki Foundation to build wells in Sudan. Upgrade your water bottle today! And for $28 what a perfect gift, everyone can always use an another water bottle?

A little taste of summer . . .

I loved this collage in April's Whole Living (one of my favorite magazines). It's clean, crisp and sea worthy! We especially love the Swedish sea salt soap from Kala Style that we just brought in. I just love this soap- the subtle scent, the creamy lather and I really love the ultra cool packaging- clean and retro. It's mineral rich as the text says and totally natural. Try one! You'll be hooked!

Vivo candles!

As a Manicurist in the Spa Industry for 12+ years, Christina Parker had been playing with her own spa recipes and scent creations.  That education allowed her to create Vivo, the beginning of a fun adventure that started with candles and evolved to a passionate career in Eco Chic scent luxury. She lives to laugh, so a touch of her spunky personality is placed in every product she creates.

We love these Vivo candles not only for their delicious scents but also for their fun, whimsical packaging that we have not seen anywhere else. They come in a lovely glass jar and wrapped with a cool chevron pattern. They are handmade made of 100% sustainable soy and burn for 90 hours. Darn cute for only $25! What an easy gift to make someone's day!

At the suggestion of one of our customer's, we decided to bring in an amazing line of handmade 100% cotton throws that are simply amazing by Brahms Mount of Maine. We fell in love with their story and their product! These throws are beautifully handmade and come in a gorgeous selection of colors! Check out the pictures of their historic mill and the process. We think these make beautiful wedding gifts and housewarming gifts or treat yourself. Leave it on your favorite chair and dedicate some "me" time to read a good book, magazine or nap! Watch this video about the company, it is quite interesting and will also make you want to go to Maine!

Ava by MZ Wallace

The Ava tote by MZ Wallace is a great shape for travel, work, or the beach. For the last few years, they have adorned this great shape with cool rhinestone stripes which we adore. We just got in two colorways- one in natural with yellow sequins and a pop of orange (which I love) and a gorgeous more subtle and sophisticated version in Sahara. The yellow version was featured in April's Oprah- it really just sings "spring!"

Angel Dear - Adorable Blankies - Perfect Baby Gifts

"Why do loveys have such magical powers?" Carol Sjostrom Miller asks in an article in Parent's magazine called "Life with Lovey."
Her answer is "Quite simply, they help children control their emotions. 'It feels good—and is calming—for a 1-year-old to stroke a blanket or hug a stuffed animal,' says Jane Kostelc, a child-development specialist at the Parents as Teachers National Center, in St. Louis. That's why most children pick loveys that are soft or have a nice texture. In addition, many toddlers choose comfort objects that are connected to their mother in some way, such as the blankets they were held in as babies. Of course, other children become fond of items that make little sense to anyone but them. "Our toddler became attached to one of his socks," says Nicole Guillory, of Mount Vernon, Washington. "He carries it everywhere and won't go to sleep without it."
My 6 year daughter still sleeps with her blankie-a light purple elephant blankie which she affectionately calls "Elephanty" - just like the ones we just brought in from Angel Dear. She doesn't take it everywhere and we have left behind on trips without problem but it is still her favorite blankie and she is always snuggling with it at night. I think it's wonderful. She's a great sleeper and a confident child. I'm glad that she has a buddy to soothe her fears (while I get my much-needed sleep). Perhaps that's why we just fell in love with Angel Dear. Their blankies are adorable and so soft and cuddly. We sell them as a set with a matching ring rattle or stick rattle which are great for when you need a little bit of entertainment. The set is only $18 which we think is a well-priced baby gift for any new mom. We also offer nice monster blankies in fun, bright colors if you just want a blankie. These are also great for sibling gifts. The napping blankies are big enough cover a stroller and we also love the napping pillows for tummy time or as sibling gifts.

Seasonal Whispers- Cool Cocktail Rings

We just received these gorgeous and totally fun cocktail rings from Seasonal Whispers. New York artists Esther Lixenberg and Yafit Goldfarb are the mother and daughter design team behind this cool company. Classically trained musicians and painters, they fashion their collections with music and art. Designed and individually crafted in the Seasonal Whispers studio in downtown Tribeca, this collection reflects New York fashion trends where both 50’s Retro and Military looks set the tone today. Browns and beiges are the base colors in combinations with pink, blue and green. Beautifully hand set with Swarovski crystals or Czechoslovakian pearls, each piece has the look and feel of a precious gift. We think these are totally chic and fun rings that are perfect for a special occasion or just a night out on the town. They have a handmade wire wrap setting that helps fit most fingers. We offer sizes small (6), medium (7) and large (8). But you can move it from your middle to your ring finger to get the best fit. I just love cocktail rings and rarely go out without adding just little bling on my hand! I love the "chip" rings- they have a wavy look to them like a potato chip making them quite unique!
